Traveling Family

Our travels today took us through two airports. Sharon and I are not the only ones of our family who are avid travelers. Just today we heard from Allison, who is on her way to Paris, France for her first visit to that city. Last week, Kimberly and Allen hiked down to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and back out in the same day. I believe the park officials recommend against attempting to hike that far in one day. However, Kim, Allen and his dad, Gary Brantley, made the trek in 12 hours. I'm exhausted just thinking about it.

Have any of you hiked the Grand Canyon?

Have you been to Paris, France?

I have hiked it 4 times twice in one year with Donna Strong. We always had a good time and take our time and enjoy the scenery as we go down and out. Staying at the Phantom Ranch at the bottom is always a treat too!

Sounds like fun. I've been to the Grand Canyon, but have not hiked it. I think I'd like to "build up" to a hike, but certainly not in one day! I have never been to Paris. Remember the song, "I've never been to Spain?" Three Dog Night. . .Dating myself. - KL

Yes I remember that song too! I have that album on vinyl!! I haven't been to Paris or Spain either.

I've actually exchanged online messages with Cory Wells from Three Dog Night. We share a hobby (military simulation boardgames) and we both visit the same hobby message forum site. He seems like a nice guy - I might get the chance to meet him in person some day because of our hobby. Three Dog Night was one of my favorite groups when I was a kid.

Jay and our son Jordan hiked the Grand Canyon about 1.5 years ago. It took them 4 days!
