Drive in worship has been going on for years.

This is another classic example of the battle between "The conveniences we want" and "What God wants".
We must pick up our cross daily and truly seek what HE wants, regardless of the level of convenience.

Just like drive through food...one becomes lazy and unhealthily fat, out of shape and unable to cook. I guess this amounts to a casual observer who has no energy to stand and sing and probably sleeps in the back pew. One also has no knowledge of how to divide the word properly and serve a good portion of spiritual food to the rest of the family.

Sort of reminds me of the email that has made the rounds about the young priest who had brought several successful innovations to his parish. The older priest-in-charge had grudgingly accepted each one, even the drive-through confessional, but he drew the line at the accompanying sign: Toot-&-Tell or Go to Hell.

I like to collect good clean jokes, but have rarely "made up" any. One of my few original jokes is about a church that decided to add a "drive through window" at their church building. As the car pulled up to the speakerphone, a voice from the church representative asked, "May I help you?" The driver replied, "I'll take two communions to go - and hold the contribution." - KL

Actually, a few weeks ago I was in a church office when a member called to ask about the time changes involved in our workshop weekend. They specifically wanted to know when the communion would be served so they could catch that and promptly leave. I guess the lake was calling . . .

Here in Eastern Kentucky (as elsewhere) we have what is called "The Church of The Lake". Their attendance is growing bigger and bigger each Sunday. To bad that people don't put God first in their life. The time will come when people will regret not doing what God has commanded us to do.

I asked a friend where he was attending church nowadays. He said, "Box Springs Church of Christ." Being slow, it took me awhile to understand that he was talking about sleeping-in and skipping church. - KL
