Pronounce these words back to back:  “a  boat” and “about.”  If your pronunciations were the same (“a  boat” and “a  boat”), you are probably from Canada.

Here’s a personal theory of mine resulting from numerous commercial flights.  I can recognize if a pilot is from the north or the south by the way he says the word “descent.”  “Ladies and gentlemen, we are about to begin our descent.”  Some say, “DE’scent,” while others say, “de-SCENT’.”  I’m pretty sure my southern brethren say, “DE’ scent.”

I’ll bet you are really happy to know that!

Upon landing in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, the president of Western Christian, Kevin Vance drove us to the college and gave us a nice tour of the campus.  This college used to be in Radville, Weyburn and then Dauphin before moving to Regina.  Another college which had previously occupied this site moved to different province, making available this wonderful turn-key campus which includes a 1,000 seat auditorium.

I am here to lead worship for the Western Christian Lectureships and will also work with three of their singing groups.

Speaking of traveling, Vocal Union has been all over the map lately, including Bridgewater, Oak Ridge and Haddon Heights New Jersey and this weekend will sing for the First Alliance Church in Oak Ridge, TN.  If you haven’t heard them lately, you need to plan a trip to enjoy their energetic and mesmerizing concerts.

Recently, Acappella sang for the Andover, Kansas Hope Community Church.  In the audience were some who have been Acappella fans for twenty years who had not heard the new combination.  Grandparents to grandchildren were impressed by their humility and some were heard to say, “This is the best Acappella group ever!”  With comments like these, let’s pray that their humility continues.  Acappella will be in Cuyahoga Falls, OH and Washington, PA this weekend.

Recently, Durant was also in Pennsylvania.  This weekend, this young ensemble will appear in Huntington, WV and Raceland, KY.
