Have you ever noticed that sometimes the "tone" of communications don't seem to go along with the actual words themselves?  For example, some preachers have a "yelling" and almost "angry" tonal style.  So much so, that they may say "GOD LOVES YOU!" with words saying one thing (peace and love), while their tone conveys anger.  Have you ever noticed this before?

I surfed the radio while driving the car this week and heard a public radio news report when the opposite scenario happened.  The announcer's voice was ultimately pleasant, soothing and positive.  Yet, the story was about an atrocious and tragic account of genocide and rape in Africa.  The message was horrible, but the tone of the announcer (in my estimation) seemed unaffected and disconnected from the message.

Alas, song leaders / worship leaders are not immune to this phenomenon.  How many times have you witnessed a leader singing about being "rekindled with FIRE FROM ABOVE" yet void of emotion?  About the "Joy of the Lord" with a frown on his face?

What situations have you noticed that convey an apparent disconnect?
