Christian music is a relatively small world.  In the 80's and 90's, Acappella began to receive wider distribution internationally.  As I became known as the producer for Acappella, I found that I was not the only Keith Lancaster in Christian music.  There was a punk rock group called "Bash 'N The Code" who was led by such a person.  Those who met both of us observed that we were definitely  different.  Well, after seeing this picture of me that Todd Hibbs doctored, maybe I could have been in a punk rock group too.

Everything was merely humorous until ASCAP confused the two of us and sent my check to him.  Fortunately, the snafu was easily and successfully resolved.

My close friend, Larry Sparks is no stranger to this situation.  Larry, also working in Christian music has been constantly reminded of the booking agent named, you guessed it, Larry Sparks.  And yes, there is a bluegrass star by the same name.  I believe the contrasts between them are just as stark.

Our four children have all been home schooled.  As a joke, when people would ask my children where they go to school, they would quip, "Lancaster Christian Academy."  Once, when asked this question, the inquirers responded with, "I know where that is."  We soon found out that there actually IS a Lancaster Christian Academy on the other side of Nashville.  And, you won't believe this -- it is headed by a guy named, Keith Lancaster!  I have known about this for a good while now.  Only yesterday did someone tell me that the head of Lancaster Christian Academy, is in fact, the former leader of Bash 'N The Code.

And now you know, the rest of the story.
