After prayer and fasting, we have decided to enter a new phase of ministry - conducting worship seminars and Praise & Harmony events full-time. I have been blessed to serve as the worship minister for the Madison Church of Christ for over eight years. Ever since the days as lead singer for Acappella, traveling has always been a passion that we enjoy and we really miss the road. It is a special blessing to have the opportunity to travel and fellowship with people around the globe, especially when the connection involves singing and worship.
Madison is a very, very special family of believers who are marching forward and doing great things in His name. We will greatly miss this church family and cherish the years of ministry with them. Lord willing, this experience will only enrich the worship leader training, Praise & Harmony seminars and praise team clinics that I’m invited to lead.
This year marks the beginning of our empty nest experience, so the timing is good to follow through on these opportunities. Please pray for Sharon and me as we enter this new phase of our ministry in helping churches navigate changes and issues involved with worship. All of my bookings will be handled through Keith Reid.
Steve Jobs, in referring to innovative products like IPod, etc. made a statement this week about how special (and rare) it is for an individual to get the chance to work on one ground-breaking project in their career; and how Apple has introduced several. I feel that way about my opportunities. It is exhilarating to see how Acappella is being used around the world for God’s purposes. Now, it is refreshing to be involved in yet another chapter of God’s work, specifically involving congregational singing and worship.

You're right Lee, with the "stage of your life" comment, Keith isn't getting any younger ya know, so now's probably a good time! :)
KL, you have been and still are my greatest inspiration in evolving from "song leader" to "worship leader" to now a "Worship Minister". Thank you for everything you've taught me and thanks in advance for what lies ahead. I love you brother! Julie and Lee, It was a joy getting to sing with you! Thank you for the kind words.
Re: Full-Time Worship Seminars: A New Chapter
My dear brother we have been through a LOT over the years and my prayer is that we will experience a LOT more, together, in the future!! May God bestow His richest blessings upon you, Sharon, Melissa, Kimberly, Anthony, and Alison! It is time for us to share you with the rest of the world so that they may become as blessed as the Madison church has been!
I love you my FRIEND, Bruder Keef Re: Full-Time Worship Seminars: A New Chapter
Keith & Sharon,
I hope God blesses you as much as he has in the past. Keep edifying God's people, blessing God's name and keeping people focused on the Christ and you'll be blessed one way or another. Hope all is well and I know Madison will miss you- Re: Full-Time Worship Seminars: A New Chapter

Wow, exciting announcement.
1 Chronicles 17:16-27 King David went in, took his place before God, and prayed: Who am I, my Master God, and what is my family, that you have brought me to this place in life? But that's nothing compared to what's coming, for you've also spoken of my family far into the future, given me a glimpse into tomorrow and looked on me, Master God, as a Somebody. Keith, The Lord has done some amazing things through you because you have allowed Him to use you as His servant, but Like David said, "but that's nothing compared to what's coming" Lord, bless Keith and his family as they continue to follow you faithfully In the powerful name of Jesus, Amen Re: Full-Time Worship Seminars: A New Chapter

Keith and Sharon,
As all these people have said, and many more will say: You will be greatly missed. The time and devotion you put into making Madison better fit to serve our Lord Christ has been a blessing to us all. I can honestly say that I will miss you. God always works in mysterious ways. One day He calls for patience, the next for ambition. It is wonderful to see you honoring Jesus' call to follow. Truly He will bless you for your faith. After all, "this is what the ancients were commended for". ~ Hebrews 11:2 I love you people. Keep up the good work for the King! It's all for Christ. K. Brian and Mo, why all the comments about me being "old"? I'm not even 50 yet! :)
Keith, you are too kind - I appreciate your encouragement to my entire family. Andrew, I have received much more than my fair share of blessings! Wes, thanks for praying for me. It doesn't matter what state I've been invited to travel to, you have always been willing to recruit an outstanding singing support team to meet me there -- and most importantly, God has met us there, hasn't he? Carlos, you'll have to help me with my Spanish so I can sing more than Cielito Lindo. Blake, you have become another member of our family. Mo, I remember singing at Golf Course Road in Midland during the earliest days of Acappella. Doug Parsons was preaching and Tim Walker was the worship leader. Things have changed a little since then, huh? Re: Re: Full-Time Worship Seminars: A New Chapter

This is wonderful, Keith and Sharon!
What a joy it is to follow where He leads. Love, Noel and Celeste Re: Re: Full-Time Worship Seminars: A New Chapter
Wow, I always wondered how you were able to juggle the seminars and concerts, as well as your Sunday morning gig. Not too many churches would let a worship minister be gone too many Sundays.
Congrats on being presented and afforded the opportunity to do this! With God at your side, you'll hopefully inspire the whole nation as much as you've inspired me! Re: Full-Time Worship Seminars: A New Chapter

Keith, this is wonderful news! I have seen first hand how your seminar can change a congregation. The worship at Green Valley coc is so much more uplifting and full of enthusiasm then it was last year before you held a seminar for us. Brother, your influence has helped us in so many ways. We look forward to next month's seminar and continuing to grow in the area of our singing.
What an ability and opportunity you have to affect the worsip of God's people. I know the Lord will bless you for taking this leap of faith. Call on me if I can help in anyway. Rex Re: Full-Time Worship Seminars: A New Chapter

Thank you Noel and Celeste. It is an exciting adventure!
Jonathan, Madison has always been generous in allowing me to do a lot of seminars and travel which has always been a blessing. We hope to help churches have a very participatory and meaningful worship experience like we have at Madison. Rex - you, my friend, are such an inspiration! If I had listened to you, I would have made this move a year ago. Re: Full-Time Worship Seminars: A New Chapter

Keith, We were out of town last Sunday and missed the opportunity to say "Good Luck" to you and Sharon! We miss you already but know God has great plans for you both to share the gifts He has given you. We are selfish to want to keep you close when you can share your God-given talent with the rest of the world! We wish you the very best and pray for safe travels. If you ever have time to take a little bike trip, just let us know!
Love you both, Richard and Darla Re: Full-Time Worship Seminars: A New Chapter

Keith, my family and I have only recently placed membership at Madison so we’ve never formally met, but I wanted to let you know that you have played an important role in our spiritual development. I’m ashamed to say this, but to me, singing has always been the part of worship that both preceded and succeeded the communion, collection, and the sermon. In fact, the song, “When All of God’s Singers Get Home” gave me palpitations.
But slowly over the last few years since we’ve worshipped at Madison, I’ve learned to appreciate and even enjoy singing, not only on during worship service, but also at home and through the week. So when we heard the news that you were moving on, and I looked over at my wife who had tears in her eyes, I knew that you had a special place in our hearts. And while we would love to keep you to ourselves in Madison, we are excited to know that God will use you to bless many others as we have been blessed. Good luck and my God bless you in your new endeavors and we’ll keep you and your family in our prayers. –Terry, Denise, and Hayden Re: Full-Time Worship Seminars: A New Chapter

We appreciate that so much, Darla. I'm glad that you are Gold-Wingers too! Do you and Richard wear black to match your black motorcycle?
Terry, leading worship at Madison has been so fulfilling for me. Comments like yours make a worship minister's job such a joy - seeing people grow in their spiritual development and watching their worship spill out to the entire week. The "participation level" in worship is so HIGH at Madison, it becomes difficult to lead at other places where they aren't used to being so fully engaged and passionate about worship - but we pray that God can use us to help people taste how good true worship can be! After all, our worship here is simply a preparation for our role in eternity. Thank you for praying for us as God leads us this direction. Give our love to your family. |
