After an overnight flight (aren't they tiring?), we were met by the promoter, interpreter and his team. It was also a special treat to be reunited with our friend F. H. Gates, who has been a missionary in Belo Horizonte for 27 years. How many of you have been on overnight flights? Have you been on mission trips to Brazil?

Notice Robin yawning - with expected jet lag after the overnight flight.

Sao Paulo is a city of 14 million people. I was startled by the level of smog as we drove into the city (notice - it appears like clouds in the photo below.) I was told that one day in the city is equivalent to smoking seven cigarettes a day.

I'm amazed by how popular Acappella and Acappella Ministries music is here in Brazil. The folks here have been talking about AVB (out of commission for years now) and CDs of the Series, Vocal Union and others going back decades.
This morning after landing, we went straight to a television station downtown to sing on a live program - one that is very popular in this area. After the television appearance, we were involved with more interviews, television tapings and media events; in fact, the most at one time than I have ever experienced in my life. Around 5 PM, we finally got a chance to check into a nice hotel to rest (crash) before our next assignments.

No matter where in the world you are with Acappella, you are bound to have a fun time! With Kimberly on this trip, I'll be sure to get you some great photos - much better than the ones I took and shared today.
I'm reminded of how POWERFUL music is as a universal language. When coupled with the Gospel (the "dynamite" of God), it becomes an incomparable force for good. Please pray that our seventeen days with these wonderful people will bear fruit for the kingdom. I hope to have internet access from time to time to share updates.

Is this a phone booth, or a helmet for Zac?
