Acappella sang at the South MacArthur Church many times. I have been blessed to spend time with Grady King. I thought I'd pass on this message I received from him:
South MacArthur Church of Christ is seeking a worship/young adult minister. John and Wendy Ogren have moved to St. Paul, MN after 12 years at South Mac. John, as well as Mark Love are in the same PH.D program at Luther Seminary related to Congregational Missional Leadership.
The “Young adult” aspect is yet to be define depending on the gifts, passions and ministry burden of the minister. We are engaged in a missional transformation process and I tell people that we are learning to accept our missional, rather than attractional identity and future. Being a mission church in our own community is challenging and exciting. The worship/young adult minister will not be a chaplain to the organization, rather someone who will lead in spiritual formation and missional equipping.

There is something about the tranquilizing effects of water. It has been a year since I've gotten to enjoy small watercraft on a lake.
 A nice view of the lake from the Whitaker's home.  After talking about dealing with stress last week, I can't believe I didn't find time to take advantage of this hammock.    Joe Whitaker and his mother, Dianne on the lake Saturday evening. In addition to leading worship at Guntersville, Joe teaches at the Madison Academy Christian School in Huntsville, Alabama. You know his Mom is special, because she has been an Acappella fan for many years - since the time I sang in the group over 20 years ago. Getting the boat ready go.  I didn't get to see this stunt, but I'm impressed. Don't think I'd try it.   I don't get to ride very often but I really enjoy waverunners. I haven't experienced a lot of boating, but I see how it can be an envigorating recreation. How many of you enjoy boating and watersports? |
