Kimberly has been encouraging me to try my hand at taking pictures for album covers.  She has coached me and emphasized the importance of capturing genuine emotion.

I'm reminded of a conversation I had with CASA's (Contemporary A cappella Society) founder, Deke Sharon.  He shared with me how he was impressed with Mo's genuine laugh featured on the song, Only Truth.  Deke pointed out that many artists have attempted to record a "spontaneous" laugh to be included in a final mix, only to miss the mark with a contrived-sounding result.

In brainstorming the cover of Holy God (third album in the P&H series), I was thinking it would be great to communicate the overwhelming emotion of someone coming face to face with a holy God.  What better person to request as a model for this project than a person who devotes his entire life to teaching people about the disciplines of prayer and fasting?

One Mock-Up Sample For Holy God Cover

Dr. Albert Lemmons has made a tremendous impact on my life.  As one of my professors in 1977, he has devoted his life to assisting believers in understanding prayer, faith and submitting to a holy God.  Presently, Dr. Lemmons works with the Fourth Avenue Congregation in Franklin, Tennessee.

As I took numerous pictures for this "photo shoot," brother Lemmons was actually praying and calling out to the God of the universe during the session.  If you look into his eyes, you will find a man who regularly encounters a holy God.
