The Herndon Twins

They attended the VERY FIRST Acafest in 1986. The Herndons have been special friends to the Lancasters ever since then. Most people who are associated with Oklahoma Christian will be acquainted with campus doctor, Michael Herndon and his wonderful family. I wanted to let you know about something the twins have been involved with.

Friday Nights at 8/7c

The producers of American Idol are teaming up with CMT to find the next great country music duo in the most original singing competition ever, Can You Duet. Each contestant will compete as part of a duo, and viewers will witness first hand all the on and off-stage drama in creating a dynamic musical duo. In addition to critiquing each performance and deciding who will advance to the next round, the judges will serve as mentors to guide, groom and develop the duets along the way.

You can see the first episode on Monday, April 14 After the ''2008 CMT Music Awards'' 9:30pm.

I can't wait to see Jala and Addi's (Herndon Twins) participation in this television program.

Tulsa Worship Poll

Also, Shane has shared a great idea for worship leaders who want to help their teams. He provides an opportunity for voice lessons for all his singers:

I had been wanting to find somewhere to take voice lessons to improve my skills in that area (since it was a part of my new job after all), and when I went to the Tag Agency to renew my license plate, I found Jaime's studio next door. I went for the next 6 months or so, and then decided it was a valuable resource I could make available to my fellow Praise Team members. So, I keep a standing appointment on Monday evenings each week and allow different team members to go in two week blocks. We have about 25 people who participate in our team regularly, and most all of them have been to Jaime at one time or another. Their participation is totally voluntary - it is simply my gift to the team.

What a great idea! We want to encourage singers to offer their best in service and strive for excellence. This is one idea that I hope will catch on with others.

Huckabee's Comments On Rev. Jeremiah Wright

Like me, you may have cringed when you heard snippets of Reverend Wright's ill-conceived remarks taken from many sermons he has preached. I've reconsidered my "open and shut" judgment of this matter after reading Mike Huckabee's comments that I discovered through Brian Mclaren's Blog.
