Is your church auditorium designed for you to see the faces of other worshippers or mostly the backs of their heads?

We have one of those c of c auditorium designs that was so popular to build back in the 60s and 70s. You know, center aisle with the exposed wooden beams that become posts at the outside aisles. The wood is beautiful, but, as a result of the design, we mostly see the back of one another's heads and have to look for creative ways to interact during the assembly.

Same here at Laurel. But we have a tradition here that addresses that a little bit - after a baptism, when the person comes back out we all gather in a circle around the auditorium and hold hands while we sing the first verse of "God's family".
