We just completed another Worship Leader Institute. The ratio of instructor to student is almost one to one.
![]() They came from California to Kentucky; from Ohio to Oklahoma. A diverse group of special men bonded as they opened their hearts to intense training and new ideas on how to effectively lead and plan worship. ![]() With an emphasis on stage presence, non-verbal communications, directing and drawing full participation in worship, these talented men invested their energy for these days of training. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We believe the best way to encourage vibrant, Spirit-filled, celebratory worship is through example - through modeling worship and setting the tone. No wonder, most people don't smile during joyful songs, as leaders fail to smile or appear to represent the very words they are singing. Emphasis was also placed upon the planning process to assist students in learning how to create an atmosphere conducive for worship. ![]() ![]() We believe that worship leading is just as important as the role of other ministers; yet countless churches invest fully in their preachers while investing nothing in developing, training and encouraging worship ministers. Gifts and skills necessary for outstanding service need to be developed. Most volunteer worship leaders do not have the ability to go back to college for several years to earn a worship ministry degree. However, churches who understand the importance of worship can sponsor their leaders for this very specialized training. Keep in mind, this is not for beginners, but is geared to teach advanced levels. For information on the next Institute, contact Derek Sachs. Thursday, February 26

![]() We can see several factors in Joshua chapter 9 that Joshua and the people used in coming to the conclusion that they should make a treaty with the Gibeonites. We can call the totality of those factors, just for convenience, an “information complex." Let’s look at two of those factors this week and three more next week. - First would be what we call today, “expert opinion”
from witnesses who should know the truth about a situation. - The
second factor was the Israelites’ own "personal experience" with
similar situations. What are the details in Joshua 9 that fit in these two categories? I have asked Latayne Scott to compose these questions for discussion on this important topic. KL Tuesday, February 24

One of the songs on the new Acappella album is, "All Over The World."
Singing in a round, the words begin as Robin sings (based upon Scripture): "All over the world this Gospel is bearing fruit and growing."
This morning, I was chatting with a contact in Japan about a trip there later this year, as well as communicating with a friend in England about the European workshop. In a few weeks, we'll be in Australia/New Zealand and in a few months, Brazil. The Gospel is bearing fruit all over the world and God is indeed working powerfully. My prayer is that we can join Him in His work. Remember the passage, "All the earth bows down to You!" ? Here's another line from the opening song on the upcoming Acappella album: "The whole earth is filled with awe at Your wonders!" If we don't praise Him, the rocks are going to cry out.

We're recruiting singers from all over the United States who will join us this summer in Tennessee to record our next Praise & Harmony CD, Victorious God. Our intention is to find the "best of the best" volunteer singers (SATB) across the land who will thoroughly prepare for this project.
The method we are using for preparing singers is seeking worship leaders and singing directors of churches with great singing, who will recruit and rehearse a select few representatives from their area. We need your assistance. Would you privately send us e-mail addresses of any persons you think should be contacted about this opportunity? This is time sensitive, so we'd appreciate the contact information right away. Send the contact information (person's name, their e-mail address, title, and church location) to me here. Thanks for your help!

Sharon and I are excited about attending the European Christian Workshop later this year. I'll get to lead worship for the entire event. It will be at Lancaster University! You didn't know I started a college?

My friend, Shane Coffman has shared a well-worded blog article about his beliefs here. I'm impressed by how he effectively communicates core Gospel truths without using ecclesiastical terminology.

As our son, Anthony, is now singing with Acappella, I'm even more optimistic about the future of Acappella's ministry. Our daughter, Melissa, has been given the gift of producing, arranging, and recording as well. It's a blessing to know that future opportunities of music ministry await those with servant's hearts.
![]() We'll be sharing more photos of the guys in the near future, as we put finishing touches on Acappella's upcoming album, Calling Forth.

Speaking of music and missions, we are currently seeking support for our next trip overseas to help mission churches. We are very encouraged by the results of these trips, seeing how God is working in a powerful way.

An elder shared a portion of a letter he received from a missionary about the power of music:
"We have personally been much involved from the beginning in developing music in these church plants. We have a great passion in our hearts for this. It has been somewhat difficult to get people in America to see the value of music ministry in missionary work, but we believe (even if we are a little biased!) it is vital and that our work has been extremely helpful to the success of our mission work in Ukraine. Extremely helpful, from my perspective - and very rewarding . . ." Yes, music ministry is vital and this is another testimony to that fact. Sunday, February 8

This morning at Park Plaza, several of the members shared some warm and encouraging words. One brother told me of his teenage children who are very, very excited about the singing and worship. A sister spoke of a young child who is totally engaged in our Sunday morning services. Another brother said, "How does it feel to know you are doing what God meant for you to do?" Wow. With all the talk about "purpose-driven churches" and "purpose-driven lives," it is so rewarding to be able to know your purpose in this life.
