Re: Six Months Hiking The Appalachian Trail

This is probably not the answer you're seeking, but my greatest adventure by far was cancer. It strikes me that it had a lot in common with that long hike - the trail was winding, difficult, sometimes uphill and sometimes downhill, and provided incredible perspectives.
It changed my life in lots of ways. It strengthend my faith, and it strengthened our marriage. It gave me a greater appreciation of small things such as hugs and sunrises. It led me to a new mission of reaching out to newly-diagnosed cancer patients.
The adventure takes me back to a Merle Haggard song:
"No amount of money could buy from me the memories of what we had then, and no amount of money could pay me to go back and live through it again".
